Day two in Jerez, Rubens Barichello and Williams take the top spot
With the second day in Jerez complete Williams with Rubens Barichello topped the timesheets. It was another wet day at the spainish circuit and none of the teams got a proper dry run with todays time being 4 seconds off yesterday and 7 seconds off the fastest time from the last test.
It’s good to see Virgin back off the bottom, all that work for wet setup last week obviously paid off today though they may have benefited from Heikki Kovalanien’s off and the subsequent damage to the car. Lotus must have the same parts supplier as Virgin as with no spare they didn’t complete any more lap.
Renault managed to leap up the time sheets today too but that is probably more to do with the bigger teams concentrating on other things rather than raw pace but it must be encouraging nevertheless.
