Ferrari back to form along with Rosberg

Thursday practice at Monaco shows that the Red Bull isn’t always the fastest way around a race track and that Ferrari did do some work after all. Monaco is an odd track and Ferrari should be concerned even if they can waltz away with the victory here as it’s unlikely to translate elsewhere. Alonso will just be happy to see his name at the top of the times and will be hoping that he can keep it there throughout the whole weekend.
Rosberg also seems to have come back to form, or mastered the new Mercedes as he has put in times that eclipse Michael Schumacher again. Perhaps Spain was a blip, Michael Schumacher will be hoping that it turns around again on Saturday and that it is he and not Rosberg that takes the highest spot on the grid for Mercedes. With it being virtually impossible to overtake in Monaco [...]

Michael Schumacher starts to build his team

Michael Schumacher put on a much better show in Barcelona than he’s managed elsewhere this season, but the important difference is that Mercedes have upgraded the car. It seems to suit Michael Schumacher much better although I wonder if Nico Rosberg will want the old spec back.
While speculation around Schumacher’s performance has been focusing on whether he’s up to it and not always the type of car that he’s driving it seems that he does need a particular setup to be at his best. Apparently the new spec has a longer wheel base and a different weight distribution. It would make the car more stable though it seems only Michael Schumacher can make it work to it’s best and I’m sure that’s the way he would have liked it. It seems that he has the ear of the engineers already – what else could we see in the pipeline?
If this [...]

What’s up with Michael Schumacher, where is the driver we all like to love and hate?

This season Michael Schumacher the most successful driver to ever grace F1 returned to the sport after three years out. And he returns not to his seemingly lifelong home at Ferrari but to Mercedes who supported him in his early career. With the Mercedes team effectively being reigning world champions he must have hoped for more than has been achieved so far. The young Nico Rosberg also has the measure of Michael at Mercedes at the moment and it seems that he, Michael is the bearer of the back luck for the team something that was always reserved for a Schumacher teammate.
So why this shift in fortunes, there were not many people predicting that Schumacher would be beaten so solidly by the younger German? For the first few races we could blame rust but I think that time has come and gone, if that is still the reason then he shouldn’t [...]

Two weeks, two tyre choices and two very different results for Jenson Button

In Australia Jenson Button made a very brave tyre call that effectively won him the race, he made it work but it gave him the opportunity to win. A week later and he sat on the grid with the softer option tyres whilst everyone around him was on the harder compound – and finished the race in 8th place 2 behind Lewis Hamilton who’d started behind him on the harder tyres.
Jenson’s race didn’t get off to a flying start as he found himself behind the Ferrari’s, a stop on lap 8 put him on the harder tyres and on a clear part of the track which he used to his advantage to put in some fast times which were out of sync with his rivals and in the process he jumped most of them, but, he’s now two thirds of the way into the race on the hard tyres which [...]
