Heikki Kovalainen

Heikki Kovalainen started his F1 career at Renault in partnership with Giancarlo Fisichella in 2007 which was a downward slide for the team as it ended the season third after two championship years, he did manage to beat the Italian driver in the final results though.

In 2008 Kovalainen moved to McLaren to partner Lewis Hamilton and he never really made any impression on the British driver, though he did take a victory in the Hungarian GP to add his name to the list of drivers that have won a race.

This season he moves to Lotus with Jarno Trulli and has the task of improving the most promising of the new entries to F1, the first few races will be a learning experience for the newest F1 team but Trulli and Kovalainen are both well placed to take any advantage that they might get to haul the Lotus into the points.

Kovalainen has never really stood out as an F1 driver but his time at Renault and McLaren will have taught him a lot and now he’s at Lotus he has the chance to build a great team that he can move forward with.
