Jarno Trulli

Jarno Trulli is one of the most experienced drivers on the grid and he brings his experience to the new team of Lotus. Seasons at Minardi, Prost, Jordan, Renault and Toyota and race wins mean that he is the best kind of driver for a new team to run, he can move forward the team quickly and that’s what Lotus and Trulli will be hoping happens.

Jarno Trulli will be looking to a few years time and wondering whether Lotus can be a front running team and if he can still be driving for them. His performance relative to that of Heikki Kovalainen will be important for his future in F1, if Kovalainen beats him convincingly then he won’t find a long future in the sport but if he can beat Kovalainen he may be able to lead Lotus to success.

Trulli is the famed qualifier and will take the Lotus to it’s limits in the new low fuel qualifying, it will be interesting to see the difference between Lotus’s grid position and race position – and whether Trulli can escape from his reputation that he can’t carry this qualifying pace through into the race.
