Karun Chandhok

Karun Chandhok is another driver to move from GP2 apart from whereas the other three Nico Hulkenberg, Vitaly Petrov and Lucas di Grassi took the top three spots in the championship Chandhok only managed 18th. It seems strange that he should be given a race drive but then money says a lot in the world of F1 – we’ve seen in the past though that once you’re in F1 it’s an unforgiving world where you must perform.

Karun Chandhok joins the newly named HRT Cosworth team for the 2010 season and partners a fellow rookie in Bruno Senna. Chandhok is no stranger to working with Bruno Senna though as the pair were team mates at iSport International in the 2008 GP2 season where he was firmly beaten by Senna (who finished 2nd compared to Chandhoks 10th). He’ll have to up this game if he want to stay in F1, there are many others to will be only too happy to take his place.

On a positive note he is now in F1 and can concentrate on learning the workings of the top tier of motorsport and he can concentrate on battling with Senna as with no testing the HRT car is going to need some work to get it ready for racing.
