Robert Kubica

Robert Kubica has had an up and down F1 career so far, he joined the grid in a BMW Sauber in 2006 replacing Jacques Villeneuve for the last part of the season. He was then confirmed for 2007 and remained with the team until BMW pulled out of F1 at the end of 2009.

Kubica has always scored points consistenly and was even a title contender for 2008 though the lack of development from the team meant that his hopes slipped away and Kubica was openly critical of this. With the withdrawal of BMW Kubica moves to a Renault team with something to prove alongside the Russian rookie Vitaly Petrov. He should have no problems with beating the Russian but it’ll be beating everyone else that is the trouble – the Renault didn’t look that great in pre-season testing though Kubica will get whatever he can out of the car.

Fernando Alonso has been flattering the Renault for the last few years and they’ll need to get back in the game and give Kubica a car to work with if they want some good results this year – Kubica can do it – but he needs the equipment.
