Timo Glock
Timo Glock came to F1 properly in 2008 joining the Toyota team from the iSport International GP2 team which he left after taking the GP2 title, he also ran in three races for Jordan in 2004 replacing Giorgio Pantano for the last few races of the season. His two years at Toyota were mainly uneventful which was inline with Toyota’s uneventful F1 experience though he showed flashes of brilliance.
He now moves to the Virgin Racing team where he takes on the lead driver role and will have to remember all of his F1 experience to help move Virgin forward. It’s a shame that his experience were with a team that was ultimately unsuccessful in F1 and one can only hope that this doesn’t hurt the Virgin effort.
Teaming up with Lucas di Grassi at Virgin he will have to beat the rookie driver and will hope that Virgin can at least take a fight to the lower rungs of the more established teams. His aim must be to get a driver with a team further up the grid unless the Virgin car turns out to be a world beater. Look to him to lead the Virgin battle to the other new teams.
