Thursday practice at Monaco shows that the Red Bull isn’t always the fastest way around a race track and that Ferrari did do some work after all. Monaco is an odd track and Ferrari should be concerned even if they can waltz away with the victory here as it’s unlikely to translate elsewhere. Alonso will just be happy to see his name at the top of the times and will be hoping that he can keep it there throughout the whole weekend.
Rosberg also seems to have come back to form, or mastered the new Mercedes as he has put in times that eclipse Michael Schumacher again. Perhaps Spain was a blip, Michael Schumacher will be hoping that it turns around again on Saturday and that it is he and not Rosberg that takes the highest spot on the grid for Mercedes. With it being virtually impossible to overtake in Monaco [...]

The 2010 Spanish GP won’t go down in history as a classic and you could be forgiven for forgetting who won it as Webber just disappeared and was untouchable out front with a flawless drive from beginning to end. All the action went on behind him. It seemed that Michael Schumacher had finally got the better on Nico Rosberg, but then Rosberg had such a poor race it could have just been a bad weekend for him. Problems at pit stops caused issues for Button and Vettel and some dodgy driving put pay to some other’s races.
Sebastien Vettel again showed that Red Bull do have a weakness even if it isn’t speed, unfortunately for the others they don’t seem to have reliability either. Hamilton will also be ruing the lost points and they may cost him later on in the season as Button continues to pick up points. Button himself [...]

With four races down F1 is set to return to it’s european stomping ground, it’s where the teams traditionally all bring big upgrades from the final stages of development and the lessons that they have learnt over the flyaway races. Expect all of the big names to have some improvements that may shake up the pecking order – though that needs little change this year.
Mercedes have the most to gain and Red Bull the most to lose but I’d expect McLaren to come out a little faster, they seem to have the best development of all the teams based on past history and they have a stronger base this year – though perhaps that will mean they have less to work with.
I’d expect to see the biggest changes in the mid-field, Williams will be keen to see some improvements as will Renault and Force India. Sauber need some reliability and [...]

F1 has just under a week to go until the first winner of 2010 will lift the trophy. It all starts in the Kingdom of Bahrain at the Sakhir circuit. It’s been on the calendar since 2004 and has provided some good racing, it stays in it’s position of the first race from last year having deposed the Australian GP.
This year the drivers will run on the full length circuit compared to the Grand Prix circuit. This change takes that circuit from 5.412 km to 6.299 km and adds a twisty in field section after turn 4, the drivers will run 49 laps for a total race distance of 308.651 km. It will be the first few miles of running in anger for the new teams and the new drivers to F1, lets hope that they can all keep it together for those first few corners. The first corner is tight [...]

Campos Meta are perhaps the most secretive of the new teams to enter F1, headed up by Adrian Campos a former F1 driver. They are the extension of the GP2 team Addax, along with a Spainish media firm Meta Image and are based in spain.
There isn’t much info on their car other than the fact that Dallara are building it, and that it’ll be using Cosworth engines. So with an outsourced car the mechanics will simply be fitters, I guess testing will be fun. Dallara do build a lot of race cars though so it might be good, it has a good chance of being better than the Virgin or US F1 cars.
Driver wise they have perhaps the most exciting name to grace the F1 grid in terms of Bruno Senna, he has a lot to live up to but perhaps Campos with be the stepping stone to achievement that [...]

Peter Windsor quit F1 racing last year to setup a new F1 team and I wasn’t really that convinced at the time but US F1 is the result and they look to have some pretty impressive facilities. With a base in the US and one in Spain at a circuit they seem to have the investment to succeed.
Announced almost a year ago they have had time to get up and running and design a car, Peter Windsor has teamed up with Ken Anderson who has a pretty impressive motorsport pedigree and Chad Hurley of YouTube fame. It seems they have all the bases covered in terms of the company but can they deliver on track?
In terms of drivers they have always stated they wanted US drivers but given the lack of them about they have plumped for José María López, a GP2 and Renault test driver. They have yet to [...]
